@InCrisisRelief (earlier as @JKFloodRelief) is a 24*7 volunteer driven initiative by the team V.O.I.C.E. (Volunteers Online for Impact in Crisis & Emergencies) for rescue and relief coordination support responding to the crises in India, carrying experience of Uttarakhand floods, cyclone Phailin, J&K floods, NE India floods (Assam, Meghalaya, & Manipur) and Nepal earthquake. Our aim is to channelize the goodwill of public and other well-meaning organizations into positive on-ground action, by minimizing mismatch of what is needed on priority vs. what is offered to help.

We worked for relief aid coordination across Tamilnadu in partnership with NGOs Bhumi and AID India, and Practo, with several volunteers on and off the flood site. Check updates here.
We worked in collaboration with local groups led by Chitra Ahanthem’s team, and NGOs including Diocesan Social Service Society, Imphal (DSSS) with several others in addition to corporate organizations to transform public goodwill into positive on-ground aid action. We thank all the generous souls and organizations in this effort (updates) via devoting this thank you page.
Team V.O.I.C.E. worked in direct coordination with the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi to assist in sending relief material to Nepal, in collaboration with Goonj, MSF, and Indian Medical Association.
For #NEFloodRelief, team V.O.I.C.E. worked with multiple voluntary organizations and groups including Switch On (Kolkata), Apni Jagah (Jaipur), Hari Om Youth NGO (Belgaum), Sneh Foundation India (Mumbai and Pune), St. Edmund’s College (Shillong), Cotton College (Guwahati), TISS (Mumbai) [Collection centers], Association for Inclusive Development & Research Centre (AIDRC) and NEDSF, Voluntary Health Association of Meghalaya (VHAM), Bethany Society (Garo), St Xavier Society for Christ Jesus (Garo), Bakdil Disaster Programme (Meghalaya) [On ground assessment and distribution], Indian Medical Association (IMA) [Medical assistance] as well as cooperating with both local volunteers and formal response organizations.

During #JKFloodRelief, we have worked with organizations like Cipla, Biocon, Americares (Medical Aid, Sanitation & doctors) Indigo, Air India, SpiceJet, Air Asia (Airlifting & sponsoring), Uber (for in-city transportation), Emami & Essar (Sanitary needs & Chlorine tablets), Max India & Helios Eco Vidyut (essentials), and experienced partners Oxfam, Uday Foundation, Goonj, AID, Sikhi Awareness Foundation, Surat Children Welfare Organization, Save The Children, Red Cross J&K, & the Sajid Iqbal Foundation (Country wide collection centers & on ground distribution), Fever 104 & Big FM (public awareness), with Google, Facebook, Twitter, Kno.e.sis Center & ADGPI coming together to work on a first of its kind data sharing and coordination efforts.
Operational Experience: We had an experienced team of volunteers distributing relief at multiple distribution centers in J&K. Our relief efforts were systematic & responsive to the rapidly changing on ground situation. We were coordinating with the NGOs, Army & the state government, supplying both institutions with much needed supplies. Our shipments were used by the survivors in the main city and remote corners of the state by the first week itself. As we speak, the group evolved into a first of its kind organized, citizen led effort that was delivering results, developing processes & a muscle memory that reacts to situations like these strengthening the govt. effort to emergencies of this nature and scale.
